Original plan for the Forks National Historic Site, Winnipeg's premier urban cultural, shopping, and entertainment district.
The Forks National Historic Site Master Plan was prepared for Parks Canada in 1986 and included the original plan for the Forks. Lombard North Group Ltd. continued its work along the Red River through to 1989 with the Red and Assiniboine Rivers Management Study. The Study, done for the City of Winnipeg and Manitoba Urban Affairs, assisted the parties in identifying and prioritizing Red River and Assiniboine River projects that connected with the Riverwalk and development of commemorative nodes along the rivers. This project won the Premiers Award for Design Excellence.
