Has been designed to complete Rivergrove areas and is the last
remaining river properties in the northern portion of the City
of Winnipeg. River Ridge offers 138 single-family lots which is
located south of Rivergrove and north of Chief Peguis Trail.
River Ridge design objective is to create a neighborhood with a
sense of community that allows residents the opportunity to
interact with each other through the existing neighborhood
schools, parks and community club amenities. The existing
residents were involved to see first hand how River Ridge will
be a cohesive and complimentary development plan.
River Ridge has allowed the City of Winnipeg’s river trail
system to extend north from Kildonan Park. A large portion of
the river bottom forest has been preserved as a green space.
Currently under construction is the new West Kildonan Collegiate
Institute located adjacent to River Ridge and will open in
February 2008. The Collegiate has highly regarded academic
programs, new sport facilities and a day-care centre.
