Presenting a vision for the future, the Brandon Assiniboine
River Master Plan was accomplished through thoughtful
consideration and direction provided by community organizations and individuals through public consultation
process. The plan reintroduces the community to the river
corridor and strengthens the interrelationships between people
and environment. |

The Eleanor Kidd Botanical Garden,
Brandon,

The design highlights Brandon’s horticultural traditions
showcasing a variety of plant species found in the region. The
garden also serves as a venue for many cultural events. |

Brandon Discovery Centre, Brandon,
MB
The Centre is a focal point along the Assiniboine River Corridor
and is directed towards local tourism information and
environmental education. The site was the location of a former
borrow pit reclaimed through the development of wetland ponds
and a winding foot trail. The outdoor interpretive areas provide
information on local flora and fauna as well as
geological/natural processes of the surrounding landscape. |

MacNamara Courtyard, Winnipeg,
MB
MacNamara Courtyard reflects the whimsical side to outdoor
recreation for kids basing its design on storybook fantasy. A
sleeping dragon is intricately molded by brick and concrete and
forms the primary component of the playground landscape.
